Author: Harry Sehgal

You have Landed at this Article because either you are not happy with less comments on your Blog or you want to increase the comments on your Blog. More Comments means more user interaction. I have Followed certain Guidelines and Methods to Increase the Comments on my Blog. This method worked for me and I was able to see the result within few days.

So here is some methods to gain more comments on your Blog.

1. Make Blog DoFollow- This is the First Effective step towards achieving more comments in the Blog. Making a DoFollow Blog means removing the no-follow attribute from your Blog. This will gain you more comments on your blog, as the reader who will comment on your blog will gain an instant Backlink. This will bring more readers and comments on your Blog. You can make your blog Dofollow by DoFollow Plugin for WordPress.

2. Award the Top Commentators- Awarding your Top Commentators always bring in more comments to your Blog. Just create a Top Commentator widget and show it in your Sidebar. Keep a Record of Top Commentator and award them monthly. More and more Readers will Drop a comment on your Blog to be a Top Commentator and win the rewards.

3. Comment Luv Plugin for WordPress- Nowadays this plugin is installed on every Blog. Using this plugin your Readers can comment on your Blog and it will show there last 10 recent Posts. This method is very Effective and will bring more comments on the blog.

4. Ask for Comments- Blogger should make there habit to ask for comment atthe end of each post. For Example you can use this Quote “If you have any Suggestions, Queries or Feedback then kindly comment. We love and appreciate your comments.” Using this Type of quote at the end of every post will gain you more Comments on your Blog.

5. Respond to Comments- Many Bloggers have habit not to respond to the comments or usually they don’t know the importance of responding to the comment. By responding to the visitor comment, the other visitor will tend to see it and will appreciate your work. Also some visitors may mention any problems or queries, so responding is must. The other Visitors will see it and your activeness will force them to Leave a comment on your Blog.

Actually my blog name is not relevant to my blog niche..in this time i want to convert my blog to a website through blogger
but i dont know if i will do it ,then how much will affect my blog traffic?

  2. David says:

If you want to change your blog name to a name relevant to your theme, then it will really affect a lot in the number of visitors coming to your blog. The best way to retain your current visitors is to use an http permanent 301 redirect to divert all the traffic to your blog.

Lots, having the right name will get you lot of traffic. Would you ever enter a shop named ‘Shoe shine’ to buy flower? No right, because the name ‘shoe shine’ makes you think of shoe’s not flower.
Similarly, if your blog name is not relevant to your niche, it wont strike up in mind of many serious visitors, and you will lose out on a large chunk of traffic.

My suggestion, definitely do convert your blog name to something more relevant, that fits in with your niche. That way
    1. new users searching for your niche on search engines, are more likely to come across you.
    2. you blog will sound more professional and serious
    3. Your blog can achieve better page rank on Google
    4. You can earn more revenue from your blog, as you will get more visitors
    5. It will add a fresh appeal to your blog.

Make sure you inform your current followers, in advance that you are going to change your blog name. Better still you can run a contest/ ask suggestion from your current followers for what the new name should be. that will be lot more fun for everybody involved.

I made a more personal blog and I don’t want followers of my fun blog that don’t know me to see what I put on it. Can they see everything I post or just the posts for my fun blog?

  6. Yellow says:

Your followers cannot see your more personal blog, unless you have promoted it on your fun blog.

    Have fun!

I recently started a blog, and I was just wondering how people have promoted their blogs online to get more followers so you aren’t just typing to nothing out in the internet?
Oh, and for my blog, I don’t really want my friends to be my followers, unless they find it on their own. My blog is about something that most of my friend’s can’t really help me with. (Photography is the main subject)

  8. flotsam says:

The key to a large following is to have great content.
I also have a blog but keep it anonymous and my friends don’t know I have the blog. The only people that know about it are those that receive parts of my project. Other ways to promote your blog:

    1) Visit other blogs that have the same sort of topic, in your case, photography and posting a comment on it with a link to your own blog.

    2) Be a guest blogger on other larger photography blogs. If your content is great there, you’ll be followed by others.

    3) You can subscribe to RSS feed directories. These put your RSS feed into a directory that people can refer to when looking for something related to your topic.

I’ve been looking at different blogs and there are so many different styles it is hard to say what the basics for a good blog is. I suspect that as with anything else in life; those that aren’t looking to be “it” are. But on your opinion what are the basic features a blog needs to have in order to catch and keep your attention?

  10. BizzyB says:

First, I think it needs a great design above the fold, the area you see without scrolling down. This would include some kind of catchy logo and/or header. Also, a clean appeal to it with organized content. If a visitor is confused about where to go in the first 3 seconds, they will leave your site. Another thing to add is catchy headlines for your post. Whenever I read blogs, I tend to gravitate towards those who spark my curiosity and a catchy headline can do this.

You are right, there are many elements to a blog that will keep your attention. So many factors are involved like your niche, what you are offering, the layout, etc.

I have a blog that’s private, so no one else sees it, but I still want to make it look nice. How can I personalize my blog without fucking it all up?

  12. Ilee'yahKukla says:

whereever you are hosting your blog, try keeping it readable and not just drop images that you like all around the background. Personalize it in the header, where the title is. Don’t touch the reading areas.

  16. Paul says:

Blogs are like online diaries, but they have become so popular that cyberspace is now called the blogosphere. People don’t exchange links anymore, they just leave their links on each others blogs. Blog is short for weblog. It’s a log of what a person says, promotes or communicates online. It unfolds in chronological order, by date. Search engines love blogs more than conventional websites, because they are updated on an hourly, daily or weekly basis. Search engines are programmed to scan blogs for activity and unique content periodically; at least once a day. But if you post a lot, the search engines become wise and scan you blog more frequently. If you would like to learn to make money, come to my blog and read my daily posts. If you have any questions, just ask. I read my comments everyday. I will help you make money, with blogs, affiliate products, adsense and social networks for free :)

  17. Jane says:

How can i start a blog website? And what is the purpose of a blog site? Is there any financial gain?

  18. Eli says:

There are a couple of ways to make your own blog. The easiest method is to use a service like WordPress or Blogger.

These give you your own domain name and give you software to easily create your own pages and blog posts. If you just want something simple, this is the way to go.

However, the downside is that your website name will be something like “MyDomain.wordpress.com” instead of “MyDomain.com.”

To get your very own domain address you need to pay about 10 dollars to register a domain name. You can then make your website name anything you want.

You will also need to find hosting for your domain. This method is cheap, but not free, and gives you much more freedom.

Once you have your own domain you can install the wordpress software and create whatever you want!

Getting your own domain is not that much work, but it could be hard if you are not too technical.

As for the purpose of blogs, many people just do it for fun. It is a good way to record your memories, recipes, pictures, etc. and share them with friends or family. It can be nice to save pictures and memories and share them with the world.

Of course, quite a few bloggers make money with their blogs. They can sell advertising, promote affiliate products, or sell their own products.

Some bloggers make a full living writing online!

This is hard to do as there is a lot of competition, but is definitely possible if you are a good writer and put work into it.

    Hope this helped!

I am about to start a blog. Along with many other hopeful’s, I hope to eventually make money off it. I noticed a lot of sites do not allow you to make money of google ad sense and things like that. What are some sites I can start my blog on that will allow this since it seems to be the most profitable way to make money off a blog?

  20. says:

    I recommend and personally use:
    http://www.hostmonsterplus.com

They allow me to put any legal content on my website that I want, including advertisements.

They have unlimited space and transfer.
They give you a free domain for life.
1 click installers for different blogging softwares (and other software), with step by step walkthroughs to setup your blog how you want.
They have php and mysql – Which you will need for a blog.
You can also add as many domains (.com, .net, …) as you like so you can have many different sites for 1 hosting price.
They also give you free $50 Google Advertising Credits for advertising your site.

I’ve been using them very happily for about 4 years now.

If you go with them and have any trouble making your site feel free to PM me, I have a lot of experience there.

Whatever you choose, the best luck to you.
